DHG has signed a lease agreement with Eland Cables, a global supplier of electrical cables, for 16,150 sq m of logistics space, including office space and mezzanine, at SMARTLOG Hellevoetsluis. Through this lease, Eland Cables will establish its Dutch operations at the large-scale SMARTLOG complex on the Kickersbloem III business park in Hellevoetsluis.
SMARTLOG Hellevoetsluis comprises six distribution centres and has been developed according to DHG's SMARTLOG concept. The buildings have been designed to high-quality standard specifications, making them flexible and suitable for a wide range of occupiers. The total project comprises approximately 137,000 sq m of floor area.
Located on the Kickersbloem III business park, SMARTLOG Hellevoetsluis offers excellent connections to the A15 motorway, the Port of Rotterdam and Maasvlakte. As such, the location provides a strategic base for companies with logistics operations in the Rotterdam port region and beyond.
Sustainability is also a key feature of SMARTLOG Hellevoetsluis, making the property a great fit for Eland Cables, a sustainability leader in the cable industry. The project has been developed in accordance with the BREEAM Very Good standard and is fully gas-free. The climate systems utilise heat pump technology and energy recovery systems. In addition, the distribution centres are equipped with electric installations and rooftop solar panels.
Following the lease of DC6 to Eland Cables, two units remain available at the Hellevoetsluis development: DC5 of approximately 16,000 sq m and DC2b of 13,000 sq m. This provides companies looking to establish operations at this strategic location with several opportunities.
